3rd quarter dooms South

A tie game at halftime turned into a 15 point lead by the end of the third quarter as Jamestown exploded for 26 points in the third and ran past the Fargo South Bruins 67-56 in Jamestown Tuesday night. South used a solid first quarter, scoring the first 6 points of the game inside against Jamestown's post duo of Jaime Goehner and Nicole Nold, and Alicia Calkins hit a three pointer in the quarter as South led 15-9 after one period. Jamestown began to find their shooting touch in the second quarter though, as they scored inside on some nice post moves and hit 2 three pointers in the quarter. The major damage for South came in the third quarter though. 3 point baskets by Wolff and Rigsby coupled with some easy fast break baskets gave the Jays a big lead they would not relinquish. South made a push to get the game under 10 points in the fourth quarter, but couldn't get any closer than 8 points the rest of the way. Jessica Trautwein led the Bruins with 16 points and 9 rebounds to lead South. The loss drops South to 10-6 in the EDC and 9-6 overall. Next action for South is Thursday when they host West Fargo.
