Bruins too much to handle for Wahpeton
Fargo South continued their winning ways on Tuesday as they won 2 important points in a road win at Wahpeton, defeating the Huskies 64-32. The twin post combo of Jessica Trautwein and Mel Hageman did much of the damage for South the duo combined for 36 points and 16 rebounds. The Huskies played hard for the entire game and kept things close for much of the way though. South led 19-12 at the quarter break thanks to hustle plays and good outside shooting. Trautwein kept the Huskies at bay as she dominated the first half of play. She had 15 points and 9 rebounds at halftime. South also shored things up defensively in the second half of the game. Switching to a man to man defense, the Bruins simply overpowered the Huskies at all of the postitions and held Wahpeton to only 2 field goals the entire second half. The Bruins also got nice contributions off the bench as Sarah Kraft came in and scored 7 points and Kari Flaagan chipped in with 6 points, 4 rebounds, and 4 blocked shots. The win moves South to 5-1 in the EDC and 5-3 overall. Next action for the Bruins is Friday night when they return home to host the Grand Forks Central Knights.
