Bruins roll over Spartans
Fargo South jumped out to a quick 10-0 lead in the first two minutes of the game thanks to their full court pressure and hot shooting, which included a three point play by Amy Stroup and a three pointer from Meghan Roehrich, and never looked back in a 79-38 victory over Fargo North on Friday night. Amy Stroup continued her aggressive play in the opening half as she continually used dribble penetration to get to the rim on her way to scoring 17 first half points. The Bruins continued to cause all kinds of problems with their pressure, and with 5 minutes remaining had the game well in hand with a 34-7 lead. In that stretch, the Bruins post tandem of Stroup and Kristen Anstadt only missed 3 shots while combining for 28 points, and Alley Fisher continued her solid three point shooting by nailing a pair of threes. Amy Stoup's second three point play of the half with under a minute left staked the Bruins to a 47-16 halftime lead. In the second half, Katie Lee picked up the scoring for South and joined Stroup and Anstadt in double figures. The Bruins played a lot of players in the second half, and cruised to the large win. Amy Stroup led all scorers with 23 points. Next action for South is Tuesday when they travel to Grand Forks Central. The win moves South to 14-0 in the EDC and 14-3 overall.
