Bruins get another road win

Despite spinning their wheels slightly in the first half, the Fargo South Bruins exploded for 55 second half points in an 85-57 road win against the Central Knights in Grand Forks on Tuesday night to move to 15-0 in the conference. In the opening minutes, the Bruins missed out on some opportunities inside, and only had 6 points through the first 6 minutes of the game, and trailed 8-6 with just under 12 minutes remaining, and trailed 12-10 with just over 8 minutes remaining. But from their, the Bruins found their offensive rhythm. The Bruins went on a 16-2 run to push out to a 26-14 lead. Katie Lee led the charge with 8 first half points, and South led 30-18, but Central's Courtney Hammer hit a three pointer right before the halftime buzzer to cut the lead to 30-21 heading into the lockerroom. In the second half, the Bruins used fast break opportunities and a strong shooting performance by Kristen Anstadt to begin to pull away. Amy Stroup scored all 11 of her points in the second half, which included a three point play, and Kristen Anstadt went off for 19 second half points. Meghan Roehrich also had a very strong game, as she scored 10 second half points which included a three point play and a three pointer. With all the Bruins finding the shooting touch, the lead continued to grow throughout the half, and South once again had 5 different players score in double figures. Anstadt's 23 points led all scorers, while Roehrich chipped in 16 points and grabbed 6 boards. Next action for South is Thursday when they travel to West Fargo.
