Bruins wrap up season with a win over Shanley
Fargo South jumped out to a 10-0 lead to start the game, and cruised to a 54-23 win over the Deacons in the Shanley gym on Friday night. The Bruins did have some rough stretches they had to fight through though. South could not find a way to continue their scoring for a good part of the first half, as they scored only a Lauryn Wilson basket in nearly 10 minutes of play. But South was able to right the ship and finished the half on an 8-0 run to take a 20-10 halftime lead. The Bruins defense was solid all night long despite their offensive troubles and held the Deacons to just 13% shooting in the half. South found their rhythm in the second half though. After trading points early gave South a 25-14 lead, South then went on a 19-2 run to bust the game wide open. Again it was a total team effort for the Bruins. Raquel Wellentin led all scorers with 12 points, but was joined in double figures scoring by Erica Everson with 11 and Brittney Bolstad with 10. Jasmine Moffett controlled the boards by grabbing a game high 13 reboudnds and also had a team high 5 assists. The Bruins end their season at 16-3.
