Bruins defeat Huskies

Fargo South won its fourth straight game on Tuesday night in posting a 60-38 win over visiting Wahpeton in the Bruin gym. South scored the first ten points of the game to lead 10-0 after 6 minutes as Katie Feltch, Brittney Bolstad, and Amanda Schultz all made hoops, and the Bruins continued to extend that lead to 17-2 as Jasmine Moffett scored and Schultz made both freethrows and a basket. The Bruins continued to play solid defense and also ran the floor well in transition, and a Katie Feltch basket off of a Lauryn Wilson assist gave the Bruins their biggest lead of the half at 36-11 with just under 2 minutes to play before halftime. Feltch and Schultz both had great scoring halves as they each hit double figures by the break, with 14 and 12 respectively. South held a 36-17 lead at halftime. In the second half, the Bruins continued to play well, and a Brittney Bolstad basket with just under ten minutes left to play gave South their biggest lead of the game at 55-21. The reserves finished out the game for the Bruins and they cruised to final 60-38 score. Jasmine Moffett joined Feltch and Schultz in double figures with 10 points while also leading the Bruins with 9 rebounds. Feltch led South with 20 points. The win moves the Bruins to 5-2 on the season, but more importantly 3-0 in the EDC. Next action for South is January 8 when they travel to Valley City.
