Eagles down Bruins

The story was too many turnovers and not enough defensive presence in the Bruins 102-48 loss at Davies High School on Tuesday night. The Bruins turned the ball over 26 times, most leading directly to Davies baskets as the Eagles scored in bunches in transition throughout the game. When the Eagles were forced to run half court offense, their ability to knock down shots and drive to the rim for easy baskets kept the points piling up. Of the first 17 baskets for Davies, 16 of them came from either a layup or uncontested perimeter shot. On the bright side for South, they did have a number of girls knock down some shots through the opening half, as South connected on 5 three pointers and had their highest scoring half of the season, putting up 28 points in the opening half. But it was just way too much scoring for Davies for the Bruins to stay close. Kierstenn Aguilar led South in scoring with 14 points, while 7th grader Adie Wagner led South with 9 rebounds. Next action for the Bruins is Friday night when they host 1-1 Devils Lake at 7:30.
