Ice cold shooting dooms Bruins

Fargo South shot 18% from the field, 14% from behind the 3 point line, and 7% from the freethrow line and the results were predictable with those kind of percentages. Red River lived up the billing of top ranked team in the state and rolled to a 68-22 win over the Bruins on Friday night in Grand Forks. However, despite the ice cold shooting performance, the Bruins did not play bad basketball...poor shooting does not mean poor performance, and there were a number of positives to take away from the game. The enery and effort level was there the entire game, despite the lopsided score as the Bruins rebounded well and were on the floor for many loose balls. 7th grader Adie Wagner again led South in scoring with 8 points, the xxth time she has led the Bruins this season. Paige Schroeder led South with 7 rebounds, followed closely behind by 6 from Alice Carlson. Emmerie Beyer assisted on 4 of South's 9 baskets to lead the Bruins in that category. Next action for South is Tuesday night when they host 14-4 Wahpeton, which will also be senior night.
