Bruins struggle on "O" at Red River

Fargo South had too many tipped or batted passes and too many fumbles to keep up with the Riders on Tuesday night. That, coupled with 25% shooting led to a large Red River win, dropping South to 1-1 on the year. South fell behind 8-0 before getting on the board with a Paige Schroeder elbow basket, and the lead hovered around 10 points for the first 9 minutes of the game. However, the last few minutes of the half saw the Riders extend that lead to 35-17 heading into halftime. South had a big missed opportunity to get back in the game to start the second half though, as their defense made a stop on the first 6 possessions for Red River and could have chipped into that lead, but unfortunately the Bruins could not score either. After 4 minutes of the second half, the halftime score had not changed. A Rider basket finally broke the ice though and Red River built a 20 point lead. South did make a mini-run after that and cut the lead back to 14 at 37-23 on a long range three pointer by Adie Wagner, but then the turnover bug hit the Bruins, and the Riders pulled away over the last 10 minutes of the game. South was led in scoring by Sami Hoselton's 9 points, while Paige Schroeder grabbed 10 rebounds. South returns to action for their third game of the week on Thursday night when they host Wahpeton.
