Bruins excise Satans
Fargo South rolled past another opponent Saturday afternoon, this time at the Sports Center in Devil's Lake, where they defeated the Satans by a 79-49 score in a two point victory. The Bruins started fast again on offense with Renae Whitford nailing a three pointer to start the game, then kept the pressure on throughout the first quarter, scoring in bunches with Kilander providing the inside punch in the half court game, and guards Tamar Elias, Lindsay Hewitt, Colee Silovich, along with Whitford, providing the transition game. The Bruins scored 23 points in each of the first two quarters of the game and pushed a 13 point first quarter lead to a 21 point halftime lead. It was more of the same in the third quarter when Fargo South put 24 points on the board. Despite some physical play from the Satans, South responded to the challenge and built a 36 point third quarter lead. The Bruins cruised to the final 30 point margin. The Bruins put four players in double figures, led by Hewitt's 17 points. Kristi Kilander managed a double double, hauling in 10 rebounds to go with her 15 points. The win moves South to 13-1 on the season, and more importantly, 15-0 in the EDC. Next action for South is Tuesday night when they travel to Jamestown in a key EDC matchup which may have tournament seeding implications.
