Bruins cruise past Bismarck St. Mary's
Fargo South, playing its third game in as many days, ended their East-West Classic on a positive note Saturday by handily beating Bismarck St. Mary's 65-46. South led throughout the entire game, dominating both ends of the floor in the first half and causing many turnovers with their full court defense en route to a 17 point halftime lead. The Bruins still had plenty of room for improvement however, as they missed many open short shots throughout the first half, an area that needs to improve if the Bruins are to be contenders for a conference title. What the Bruins lacked in touch from the field, they made up for from the freethrow line, making their first 15 freethrows of the game and finishing 15-16 in the first half. The second half was fairly evenly played with both teams making mini-runs, but the Fargo South big halftime lead ws never seriously threatened. With the win the Bruins improve to 2-1 on the season. The Bruins begin their conference season next Thursday, when they take on cross town rival Fargo North in the Spartans gym.
