Bruins maul Wahpeton


Fargo South dominated every aspect of the game from the opening tip on in a79-39 rout of EDC foe Wahpeton in a Saturday afternoon game. The win capped off a 3-0 week for the Bruins, who earlier defeated both Valley City and Grand Forks Central. The Bruins used a swarming defense to overpower the Huskies, getting 17 steals on the night, many of which led to easy transition baskets. The Fargo South guard trio of Lindsay Hewitt, Renae Whitford, and Colee Silovich combined to go 16 - 18 from the field, all but two of those baskets coming in a 50 point Bruin first half. South exploded for 28 first quarter points and went into the halftime locker room with a 31 point lead and were never threatened. The win was also an important 2 point victory for South which improves to 6-0 in the EDC. Next action for Fargo South is Tuesday night when they take on undefeated and number one ranked Jamestown in the Bruin gym.
