2002-03 Season:Was named "All-State" and "All-Conference"...scored a season high 26 points at Shanley and grabbed 15 rebounds against Valley City...361 points, 6th best in team history...191 rebounds, 5th best in team history...shot 62% leading the EDC and 2nd best in team history
Coach's Comments: "Mel pushes herself every day in practice in every drill. That work ethic is a great example to the rest of the team. There are reasons why she is an All-State player, and that daily effort is one of the biggest ones."
Has started at the 4 spot since her sophomore year... finished 3rd in the EDC in FT%... she will be looked at as the main scoring threat now that 1000 point scorer Jess Trautwein is gone... with a solid year, Mel could surpass many of Jessica's records set last season... she will need to be able to score from the perimeter as well this season
Most memorable moment in basketball: when we got to go swimming this summer and doing well at state last year, but hopefull doing better this year.
High School Achievements: Volleyball State Champs in 2002, VB All-Conference, Band awards - star rating at state competition, "A" honor roll and a 4.0 GPA
